Bethmia Foundation is an organization borne out of vision by its founder, Mojisola Ayorinde, who passionately believes that an opportunity given at the right time to the right individual is most likely to materialize.
Mojisola's passion for humanity started her out as a visionary of the Little People's Foundation when she launched a foundation that cared for children in need. She taught children in Sunday Schools, providing them with biblical resources and many other hands-on activities including field trips to prepare them as youth ready to live an exemplary godly life.
She was in charge of other departments that catered for single parents, those who were believing God for children of their own, and as an editor of the monthly women's editorial plus volunteering on other projects. For our founder, no task is too little to render or too big to embrace as long as humanity is attached to it.
Anyone who knows our founder can attest to it that she loves people, she loves children, and will not hide herself from the sufferings of others. Whether it's an opportunity geared toward children in need to get them ready for a school year by providing school physical, school supplies, immunizations, and other materials necessary to prepare them for the school year or provide holiday meals for individuals and families who have no one to dine with or spend time with during holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Transforming lives through comprehensive mental health care and community support
Our founder believes if people with mental illnesses are given the same opportunities to heal with access to get the help that they need, perhaps they will also have the same outcome as other members of the society without the stigma of mental illness. Our founder experienced the stigma of mental illness through the experience of her patients.
To treat patients as a career brings her joy to make a difference in their lives. Instead of relishing in the accolades, the recognition, and the gratitude that were showered on her for a job well done, our founder was able to search out those who could not afford their care.
She offers to pay for their services, offers discounts, free services, gives free sample medications, and prescribe alternatives that are equally effective. She made patient education a priority, follows up with her patients to find out how they're doing without charging them for the calls or her time.
Starting a remote service either by phone or video visit, patients will have access to mental health especially those who are not comfortable or familiar with visiting a psychiatric clinic. Bethmia Psychiatry will create time for in-person visits for patients who are willing and ready for such visits. Either way a patient chooses to use our service, the goal is to "alleviate their symptoms"; giving accurate diagnoses and developing an individualized treatment plan enshroud in empathy, sympathy, compassion, and their dignity.
Bethmia Psychiatry, therefore, will serve as an opportunity to provide mental health, just as medical care is sought for physical illnesses, to provide individuals the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest.
